Taylor Hospital is part of the Crozer-Keystone Health System. It is a 153-bed not-for-profit community hospital that offers a range of acute and specialized services. Each year, Taylor Hospital admits more than 7,200 patients and receives more than 27,000 Emergency Department.

Patient Portal’s Brian Kelly had a meeting with Kris Creighton to discuss the television and phone system for all the hospitals in Crozer-Keystone Health System. According to Creighton, Taylor hospital never charged their patients for television and phone service. She also said the televisions were old and outdated. Creighton also informed that she had initiated a patient action line at Taylor Hospital, but due to lack of infrastructure they could not continue the service.

Now with Patient Portal, at a minimum bundled communication charge of $8.00 per patient, Taylor Hospital received all new televisions and HealthCast for patient education. Ordering patient education videos has never been easier for the patients! Kris Creighton believes that charging patients was worth it because that meant patients and staff received more value. She also said she likes Patient Portal’s Telcierge / Instant Response Line since it functions like her patient action line without the additional worries of allocating resources to do the same. Creighton can now reallocate her commissions for this type of services. Says Creighton “It’s not about the money, but Patient Portal’s services helps fund these initiatives… before this limited resources and capital made it difficult.” .
