I was traumatized by the experience I had with Dr. Lisker. It began with her running 50 minutes late for the appointment (I was in the middle of my workday and ended up being there from 10:45-1:15pm). After I was called back, the dilation process wasn't thoroughly explained before she jumped into forcefully holding my eyes open while putting in the drops. I wasn't prepared at all. After the first round of drops, she proceeded to ask me if I was traumatized by that and said I looked stressed. (really...???). I'm not comfortable with people being so close to my eyes and I'm thankful she let me hold my eyes open on my own for the second drops. But never again being so trusting with an eye doctor let alone visiting this office again.

I came in today with a disabled person who needed an eye exam and Dr Lisker was incredibly gracious and generous with them, taking time to explain everything and navigate their benefits and also putting them at ease. In addition to a great bedside manor, she clearly was experienced and well skilled at both her field of practice and navigating the complicated benefits system. I highly recommend her practice for an extra touch of warmth and compassion in a medical landscape which can often be cold and isolating.

I’m shocked by the negative reviews of Dr Lisker. My girls & I have seen her for years. She’s a sole practitioner but yet continues to invest in the latest technology. In 10+ years I’ve never seen her rude or off-putting, she might be quirky but I find her charming. Dr Lisker moves quickly and does her own refraction and tests — she knows her stuff. Both my 19 year old daughter & I had appointments this morning and were in and out in one hour even with dilation and additional eye nerve tests for my daughter. In spite of her speed she’s willing to answer questions. I love Dr Lisker & highly recommend her.

Conveyor belt of treatment. Didn't take the time to listen to my concerns and allay them. This must be the NoVa eye doctor way, because this is doctor #3 for me who pushes patients through and doesn't take time to provide actual CARE, but just a service with a cursory exam and the boot.

Fans of the old "Let's Make a Deal" show will immediately recognize a familiar phrase when Dr. Lisker says, "John Smith, come on in." So began my 45-minute visit with a doctor who clearly enjoys her job as much as she enjoys her life. I explained to Dr. Lisker that a year ago, an optometrist thought she had seen an anomaly in my eyes. "So it took you a year to follow up?" Dr. Lisker wryly replied. I LOVE this doctor! She explained every procedure she performed and the purpose behind it. She also mentioned that some optometrists may note things that might not seem right, but are in fact quiet normal. I left with a grin on my face, and a happiness in knowing that I had been attended by THE BEST ophthalmologist I've ever seen.
